Lake Forest Defeats Illinois Wesleyan 8-1

Senior Ellis Lora-Arceo was one of three Foresters to win twice in the men's tennis team's 8-1 victory Saturday night over visiting Illinois Wesleyan University.

Lora-Arceo and sophomore Trevor Allen posted an 8-1 victory at #1 doubles, giving the home team a sweep of the doubles matches. Sophomore Joe Bove and freshman Charles Kleinman were the first to finish, blanking their counterparts at #3 8-0. Junior Dan Pivonka and freshman Nick Zazove prevailed 8-1 at #2.

The Foresters did not lose a game at #5 or #6 singles, where senior Dragan Trivanovic and junior Nick Rehm, respectively, won both sets 6-0. Zazove played at #3 singles and Lora-Arceo at #4 and both took the first set 6-0 and the second 6-1. Allen added a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at #2 before the Titans earned their only point of the night at #1.

Lake Forest is now 2-1 on the young season. It was the first dual match of the spring for Illinois Wesleyan.

The Foresters will play a pair of matches at the Premier Tennis and Fitness Club in Janesville, Wisconsin, next Sunday. The team will face Edgewood College at 9:00 in the morning and Carthage College at 3:00 p.m.
