Sophomore Trevor Allen won twice in the Lake Forest College men's tennis team's 5-4 season-opening triumph over Augustana College on Saturday. The Foresters also fell 9-0 to host Wabash College.

The Foresters avoided an Augustana sweep in doubles when Allen and freshman Nick Zazove finished off an 8-5 triumph at #2.

A Viking victory at the top spot in the singles lineup made the score 3-1 but the next three matches to finish went to Lake Forest, beginning with a 6-4, 6-1 win by senior Ellis Lora-Arceo at #4. Senior Dragan Trivanovic edged out his opponent at #5 6-4, 7-5 to tie the match and Allen's 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory at #2 gave the Foresters the lead. After Augustana earned the point at #6 to tie the score, Zazove finished off a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 match-clinching win at #3.

The loss dropped Augustana's record on the young season to 0-2.

Wabash, which defeated Augustana 8-1 earlier in the day, posted convincing victories in seven of the nine matches against Lake Forest but needed third set super tiebreakers to prevail over Zazove at #3 singles and junior Nick Rehm at #6.

The Foresters will play their first home match of the season against Illinois Wesleyan University next Saturday night at 6:00. The contest will be played indoors at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
