The Forester men's tennis team was defeated 6-3 by Ursinus College on Monday in the squad's first match of Spring Break in Orlando, Florida. Lake Forest junior John Snider was victorious in both singles and doubles play.

Snider and senior Derek Schaltz defeated the Bears' #3 doubles team 8-3 but the Foresters fell at the other two positions in the lineup.

After victories at #2, #4, and #5 singles gave Ursinus a 5-1 lead, Snider finished off a 7-6 (8-6), 6-0 triumph at #3. He fought off four sets points and rallied from a 6-2 deficit in the first set tiebreak before going on to win the match. The Foresters' other point came at #1 singles, where freshman Dan Pivonka prevailed 6-4 in both sets.

Lake Forest's record on the season fell to 4-5 while Ursinus improved to 3-0.

The Foresters will take on Pennsylvania State University-Berks Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. (EST) at Oak Street Community Park in Kissimmee, Florida.
