Foresters Defeated by 18th-Ranked Team in the Region

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team fell 9-0 to visiting Carthage College, the 18th-ranked team in the Central Region, on Tuesday. The Foresters will close out the regular season at home against Cornell College on Saturday.

Lake Forest was without their top player in singles, making the already challenging task of taking on a regionally-ranked opponent even more difficult. The scores at #1, #2, and #3 singles were each 6-3, 6-2 and the margin was greater at the bottom of the lineup.

A pair of singles winning streaks were snapped by Tuesday's losses. Sophomore John Snider had won six matches in a row before falling at #3 and classmate Jordan Stoler's five-match winning streak at #6 also came to an end.

Lake Forest is now 12-12 overall this season while the Red Men raised their record to 15-6.

The Foresters' 11:30 a.m. contest against Cornell on Saturday will be the final home match for senior Jerry Wang and he will be recognized on his Senior Day before the match.
