Lake Forest Falls to Grinnell, Defeats Dominican

The Forester men's tennis team split a pair of matches at home on Sunday, falling 9-0 to Grinnell College before blanking Dominican University 7-0. Senior Anthony Warren and freshman Ellis Lora-Arceo were two of 10 players to win during Lake Forest's victory over Dominican.

Warren and Lora-Arceo prevailed 8-4 at the top spot in the lineup to complete a Forester sweep of the doubles matches. Juniors Anthony Mykhaylovskyy and Derek Schaltz won 8-3 at #2 while freshman Josh Kim and Ryne Urbanik posted an 8-1 triumph at #3. It was the first victory since enrolling at Lake Forest College for both Kim and Urbanik.

The only players listed in both the singles and doubles lineups were Warren and Lora-Arceo but their matches at #1 and #2 singles were not played due to impending darkness. Senior Jerry Wang won 6-0, 6-1 at #5 singles and freshman Dragan Trivanovic and sophomore Jordan Stoler followed with victories by the same score at #3 and #6, respectively. Sophomore John Snider accounted for the final team point by coming out on top of a 6-1, 6-2 decision at #4.

Warren and Lora-Arceo played the closest match in the loss to Grinnell earlier in the day but they were edged out 8-5 at #1 doubles.

Lake Forest is now 8-10 on the season. Grinnell also defeated Dominican 9-0 to raise its record to 26-3. The Stars fell to 0-4.
