Foresters Defeat Illinois College 9-0, Webster 7-2

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team earned a pair of victories at Illinois College on Saturday, blanking the home team 9-0 and defeating Webster University 7-2. Sophomore John Snider and freshman Dragan Trivanovic were  undefeated on the day in the middle of the doubles and singles lineups.

Snider and Trivanovic won 8-1 at #2 doubles and juniors Anthony Mykhaylovskyy and Derek Schaltz prevailed by the same score at #3. Forester senior Anthony Warren and freshman Ellis Lora-Arceo recorded an 8-2 triumph at #1.

Trivanovic did not lose a game at #3 singles and senior Jerry Wang clinched the Lake Forest victory with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #5. Snider matched Wang's score at #5 and sophomore Jordan Stoler won 6-0, 6-1 at #6. Warren won both sets 6-0 at the top spot in the lineup and Lora-Arceo posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #2 to close out the match.

The doubles scores were much closer against Webster, although the result was still a Forester sweep. Warren and Lora-Arceo edged out the Gorlok's top tandem 8-6, Snider and Trivanovic eeked out a 9-7 win at #2, and Mykhaylovskyy and Schaltz prevailed 8-4 at #3.

Mykhaylovskyy's 6-1, 6-0 triumph at #5 was the first singles match to finish and Wang secured the team win by taking both sets 6-1 at #6. Snider completed his perfect day with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #4 and Trivanovic was also 4-0 in the two matches combiened after coming out on top of a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) decision at #3. Webster pulled out three-set victories at #1 and #2.

Lake Forest is now 7-8 on the season and will host Monmouth College next Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The match will be played at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
