Lake Forest Drops 5-4 Decision to Gettysburg

The Forester men's tennis team was defeated 5-4 by Gettysburg College in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on Tuesday. Lake Forest sophomore John Snider won both of his matches on the day.

Snider and freshman Dragan Trivanovic edged out the Bullets' #2 doubles team 9-7 to give the Foresters a 2-1 lead in the match. Juniors Anthony Mykhaylovskyy won 8-2 at #3 doubles and Gettysburg prevailed at #1.

After the Bullets tied the score with a win at #2 singles, Snider regained the lead for Lake Forest with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at #4. Losses at #1 and #3 put the Foresters in a 4-3 hole, but a 6-3, 6-2 victory by senior Jerry Wang at #6 tied the contest at four. Gettysburg won a close match at #4, however, to come away with the team victory.

Lake Forest fell to 4-6 on the season while the Bullets remained undefeated at 3-0.

The Foresters will play twice on Wednesday, taking on Heidelberg University at 8:00 in the morning and Baldwin Wallace University at 6:30 p.m.
