Foresters Post 8-1 Victory over North Central

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team hosted and defeated North Central College 8-1 Friday night at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff. Forester freshman Ellis Lora-Arceo won a close match in doubles before recording his first career singles victory.

Lora-Arceo and senior Anthony Warren trailed 7-6 and fought off a pair of match points before coming out on top of a 9-7 decision at the top spot in the doubles lineup. freshman Dragan Trivanovic and sophomore John Snider won by the same score at #2. Those victories were preceeded by an 8-4 triumph at #3 by juniors Anthony Mykhaylovskyy and Derek Schaltz.

A 6-0, 6-1 win by Lora-Arceo at #2 singles made the score 4-0 and Trivanovic's 6-1, 6-2 victory at #3 clinched the match for the home team. Snider did not lose a game at #4. Mykhaylovskyy needed a 7-1 tiebreaker triumph to take the first set at #5 before winning the second 6-2. Lake Forest's final point of the night was provided by senior Jerry Wang's 6-2, 6-3 decision at #6.

The Foresters are now 3-5 on the season after dealing the Cardinals their first loss in five contests.

Lake Forest's next five matches will be played in Hilton Head, South Carolina, over Spring Break. The team will begin the week with an 8:00 a.m. (EST) contest against Nazareth College on Monday, March 10.
