Lake Forest Defeated at Home by Carroll

The Forester men's tennis team fell 5-2 to visiting Carroll University on Tuesday. Freshman Mike Riley contributed to both of Lake Forest's team points.

Riley and senior John Adams posted an 8-5 victory at #1 doubles. After starting the spring with five straight losses, they have won nine of their last 10 matches at the top spot in the lineup.

The Foresters were defeated in the other two doubles matches, although senior Kevin Lasky and junior Jerry Wang made a thrilling comeback from a 7-3 deficit, only to fall 9-8 (7-2).

The contest was called after Carroll prevailed in three singles, giving the visitors their fifth team point. The only singles victory for the Foresters was a 6-4, 6-4 triumph by Riley at #2.

7-6 (7-5), 6-3 decision at #1 singles was the first loss of the season against a Midwest Conference opponent for Lake Forest senior John Adams.

The Foresters fell to 9-9 overall this season and 1-2 in MWC North Division play. Carroll is now 11-7 overall and 2-1 in the division.

Lake Forest will conclude league play against Lawrence University Friday night at 8:00. The Senior Day, Parents Day, and Alumni Day match will be played indoors at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
