Foresters Fall at Nation's 28th-Ranked Team

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 9-0 at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Sunday. Whitewater is currently ranked fifth in the Central Region and 28th in the country.

The Foresters' #1 doubles team of senior John Adams and freshman Mike Riley took on the region's third-ranked duo but fell 8-3.

It took a super tiebreak in lieu of a third set for Whitewater to earn the point at #1 singles against Adams. He eventually fell 6-3, 3-6, (10-7). Adams has won 12 of his last 14 matches and both losses were in third set super tiebreaks.

Lake Forest also came close to taking the point at #5 singles, the last match to finish. Forester freshman John Snider was defeated 7-6 (7-5), 7-5, however, snapping his eight-match winning streak.

The Foresters fell to 9-8 on the season while the Warhawks evened their record at 11-11. Both teams were also scheduled to play against the University of Dubuque both those contests were cancelled.

Lake Forest will host Carroll University in a crucial Midwest Conference North Division match Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
