Foresters Defeat Gettysburg, Finish Spring Break Trip 4-0

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team won for the fourth time in as many days on Thursday, defeating Gettysburg College 6-3 in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Junior Jerry Wang was one of three Foresters to win twice on the day.

Wang and senior Kevin Lasky completed a Forester swep of the doubles matches with their 8-5 victory at #2. Senior John Adams and freshman Mike Riley won 8-3 at #1 and the #3 tandem of sophomore Anthony Mykhaylovskyy and freshman John Snider prevailed by the same score.

After Gettysburg trimmed the Lake Forest lead to 3-2 with points at #3 and #4 singles, Snider finished off a 6-2, 6-0 win at #6 and Wang clinched the Forester victory by defeating the Bullets' #5 player 6-3, 6-0. Adams added a 6-2, 6-7 (1-7), (10-8) triumph at the top spot in the lineup to account for the final score.

Lake Forest finished its Spring Break trip with four victories in as many matches and raised its record on the season to 6-5. Gettysburg fell to 1-4.

The Foresters' next match will be at Monmouth College on Friday, March 29, at 5:00 p.m.
