Foresters Start Spring Break Trip with Victory over Heidelberg

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team defeated Heidelberg University 7-2 in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on Monday. Freshman Mike Riley's win at #2 singles provided the clinching point for the Foresters.

Riley began the match by combining with senior John Adams on an 8-1 victory at #1 doubles. Sophomore Anthony Mykhaylovskyy and freshman John Snider prevailed by the same score at #3 and the Foresters led 2-1 going into singles play.

Adams quickly finished off a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #1 singles and Snider was nearly as dominant, winning 6-0, 6-1 at #6. Riley earned Lake Forest's fifth point of the match with his 6-3, 6-1 triumph at #2. Junior Jerry Wang won 6-1, 6-0 at #5 and Mykhaylovskyy came out on top of a 6-1, 6-3 decision at #3.

The Foresters are now 3-5 this season and will continue Spring Break play tomorrow morning against Nazareth College. The contest is scheduled for 8:00 (EST) at Hilton Head Island Resort. The Lake Forest and Nazareth women's teams will also compete at the same time and place.
