Men's tennis player John Adams was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his performance in a pair of Midwest Conference South Division matches last Saturday.
Adams, a junior, split his two matches in a 7-2 loss to Grinnell College. He fell at #2 doubles before routing the Pioneers' #2 singles player 6-3, 6-0.
In the Foresters' second contest of the day, a 7-2 victory over host Illinois College, Adams played at the top spot in the doubles lineup and combined with sophomore Ryan Kreis for an 8-1 victory. He then blanked his #2 singles opponent 6-0, 6-0 to extend his singles winning streak to five matches.
Adams is now 10-3 in singles and 7-7 in doubles this spring.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Adams also earned the award twice as a freshman and once last season.
