Lake Forest Defeats MSOE 7-2 to Climb Back above .500

The Forester men's tennis team defeated visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering 7-2 at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff Saturday evening. Lake Forest junior John Adams won both of his matches on the night and is a perfect 5-0 at #2 singles this season.

Adams and senior Elliot Muth gave the home team a 2-1 lead after closing out their 8-5 victory at #1 doubles. Sophomore Ryan Kreis and Anthony Warren had earned the Foresters' first point of the match with an 8-2 triumph at #2.

Muth was the first to finish in singles and his 6-2, 6-1 victory at #3 put the home team ahead 3-1. Kreis then extended the advantage to 4-1 with a 6-1, 7-5 win at #1. Sophomore Jerry Wang clinched the match for Lake Forest by prevailing 6-2, 6-1 at #6. Adams won 6-4, 6-2 at #2 to became the third player on the team with a pair of wins on the day. Freshman Anthony Mykhaylovskyy's 6-2, 6-2 triumph at #4 accounted for the Foresters' final point.

Kreis and Adams are each 5-0 at the top two spots in the singles lineup this season. Kreis is also 4-1 and Adams 3-2 in doubles.

Lake Forest raised its record on the spring to 3-2 while the Raiders fell to 0-6.

The Foresters will play at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater next Saturday morning at 9:00. They will also face Carthage College at 12:30 p.m.
