The 2019 season will be the first for John Cappuccitti as an assistant coach at his alma mater and second working with players at the collegiate level.

Cappuccitti served as the assistant women's soccer coach at fellow Midwest Conference member Knox College in 2018. He helped lead the Prairie Fire to a 13-5-3 overall record and a conference title with a mark of 8-1-0 in leauge play. Knox also won the MWC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Five players on the team were named All-MWC and three earned United Soccer Coaches All-North Region honors.

After playing at Loyola University Chicago as a freshman, Cappuccitti transferred to Lake Forest and tallied 61 points on 24 goals, including six game-winners, and 13 assists over the next three years. He led the Foresters with 11 goals and 29 points as a junior and was named MWC Offensive Player of the Year and United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-North Region after the season.

Cappuccitti graduated from Lake Forest in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

In addition to coaching soccer, Cappuccitti serves as an assistant coach for the junior varsity boys hockey team from Buffalo Grove, Hersey, and Wheeling High Schools.
