Lake Forest to Face St. Olaf in First Round of NCAA Tournament

The bracket for the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship Tournament was released Monday afternoon and the Foresters will take on St. Olaf College in the opening round.

Lake Forest captured the 18th Midwest Conference title in program history this fall and posted dramatic victories in the MWC Tournament on Friday and Saturday to earn a bid to the national playoffs. The Foresters enter the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 8-8-3 and will face 13-5-1 St. Olaf, who won last week's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, in the opening round Saturday night at 8:00.

The game will be played at North Central College, the nation's 10th-ranked team in last week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. North Central (16-0-4) will host University of Wisconsin-Superior (16-3-2) in the earlier game at 5:30 p.m. in a match-up of champions from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

The first round winners will face each other in the regional final at North Central's Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

The third and fourth rounds will be played November 18-19 at sectional host sites and the national semifinals and finals are scheduled for December 1 and 3 in Salem, Virginia.
