GRINNELL, Iowa – The 2022 Midwest Conference (MWC) Men’s Soccer Tournament will be contested on Friday, November 4 - Saturday, November 5 on the campus of Lake Forest College.

Lake Forest went 5-1-2 in league play to win the regular-season championship, its first since 2016, and the rights to host the season-culminating event. As the top seed, the Foresters will take on No. 4 seed Knox College on Friday at 11:00 a.m.

The defending champion Prairie Fire (4-3-1 MWC) secured their ninth consecutive tournament appearance after defeating Illinois College 3-1 in their last game of the regular season and a subsequent Beloit and Lawrence tie.

In Friday’s second semifinal, No. 2 seed Grinnell College (5-2-1) will take on No. 3 seed Ripon College (4-2-2) at 2:00 p.m.

Before suffering late season losses to Lake Forest and Ripon, the Pioneers were in contention to win their first league title since 1994. Grinnell enters postseason play for the second consecutive season.

Ripon clinched a spot in the tournament for the first time since 2010 with its win over Grinnell roughly two weeks ago. Against the tournament field, the Red Hawks either won or tied in regular season play.

Saturday’s tournament title match is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start and will feature the winners of both semifinal matches. The winner will receive the league’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
