Lake Forest College men's soccer player Szymon Mocarski was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week Wednesday morning after helping the Foresters clinch a spot in the conference tournament with a 1-0 victory over Knox College on Saturday.
Mocarski, a junior goalkeeper, made a pair of saves in the second half of the contest to preserve his second consecutive shutout and third this season. All the scoring Mocarski and the rest of the Foresters needed came on a score in the 55th minute.
Mocarski's 0.60 goals against average and .964 save percentage this season are the best marks of any goalie in the league and rank among the top 20 in the nation.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Mocarski also earned the award exactly one month ago.
