Lake Forest Can’t Keep Up with Carthage

The Lake Forest men's soccer team was defeated by Carthage College 5-0 on Wednesday evening.

The Foresters allowed just one goal in the first 45 minutes of the game; however, the Firebird offense overpowered them in the second half, scoring four more times.

Carthage out-shot the Lake Forest 24-6 and attempted 13 corner kicks. Forester senior goalkeeper Giuseppe Scalera made five saves during the game.

The Foresters are now 4-8-2 overall and carry a 3-1-1 conference record. Carthage improves to 6-6-2 and is 3-1 in the CCIW.

Lake Forest plays again on Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m. against Cornell College. It will be the team's senior day, and their second to last home game.
