Junior Elliot Hull scored within the first 10 minutes of the game for Lake Forest men's soccer, and the Foresters held the lead for the rest of the game against Lawrence University on Saturday.

Hull's goal was his first of the season. The Foresters had possession of the ball and were drawing closer to the Lawrence goal. Senior Teddy Kolsnikov kicked a long, high pass to sophomore Eric Rodriguez, who was in the box. With a defender on him, Rodriguez was unable to get a shot, but made a quick pass to Hull. Hull made his move and got a shot off. The Viking goalkeeper was able to get his fingertips on the ball as he dove to the ground for it, but the ball rolled passed him into the back of the net.

The Foresters' second goal came in the final 45 minutes of play when freshman Karl Weisenfeld scored his fourth goal of the season. After a lot of back-and-forth possession between Lake Forest and Lawrence in front of the Lawrence goal, Weisenfeld battled through a group of Viking defenders to the net and fired the ball into the goal to put the Foresters up 2-0 with 58:23 showing on the clock.

Lawrence got on the board with a goal in the 71st minute of play to make the final score 2-1.

Junior Szymon Mocarski was in the net for the Foresters for the full 90 minutes and made four saves on the day.

Lake Forest is now 2-6-1 overall, and 1-0 in conference play. Lawrence moves to 1-6-1 and 0-1.

The Foresters return home for their next game against Ripon College on Tuesday, September 27 at 4:30 p.m.
