Freshman Karl Weisenfeld scored two goals early in the game to help lift Lake Forest men's soccer over Concordia University Chicago on Monday. The Foresters won the game 3-0.

What would be the Foresters' game-winning goal came with 13:08 on the clock. After a lot of back-and-forth passing from the Foresters, senior Teddy Kolesnikov made a short, quick pass to sophomore Eric Rodriguez. Weisenfeld was up the field, closer the goal and flanked by Concordia defenders when Rodriguez made the pass to him. Weisenfeld pushed through the defenders to make a window of opportunity for himself through which he sent the ball into the lower left corner of the goal.

Weisenfeld's second goal of the game came less than three minutes later. After a goal kick was sent right back to him, the Concordia goalie threw the ball to one of his defenders, who missed his kick. The ball went right to the foot of Eric Rodriguez. Rodriguez cut the ball to the right where Weisenfeld had an open field and was able to drill the ball easily into the left side of the net.

The final goal of the game came from junior Johnny Presberg off a free kick, which went into the right-hand side of the goal, curving as it sailed just passed the fingertips of the Concordia goalkeeper. It was Presberg's second goal of the season.

Forester goalkeepers sophomore Ace Prasad and senior Giuseppe Scalera combined for the shut out win.

Lake Forest travels to North Central College on Wednesday, September 14. The game is at 7:00 p.m.
