Lake Forest Unable to Stop Wheaton

Despite tying the score in the first half, Lake Forest men's soccer was unable to overcome Wheaton College's final two goals and fell to the Thunder 3-1 on Wednesday.

Wheaton scored in the seventh minute of play, and the Foresters answered quickly—just under a minute and a half later. The Foresters were awarded a free kick, and sophomore Eric Rodriguez headed it to senior Johnny Presberg. Presberg also used his head to send the ball sailing into the high left side of the net for a goal.

The Thunder responded with two more goals before the end of the first half; the game-winning goal came in the 14th minute of play.

The Foresters move to 0-3 on the season. They play their home opener on Saturday, September 10 at 3:30 p.m. against Elmhurst University.
