The Lake Forest College men's soccer team began the 2021 spring season with a 1-0 victory at Ripon College on Saturday.

The only goal of the afternoon was scored by junior Erik Truitt just seven minutes and 41 seconds into the game. He took a pass from freshman Muhamed Prijic just inside the top of the box and blasted into the upper-right corner of the goal.

The Foresters doubled up the Red Hawks in shots in the game 10-5 but were unable to add to their lead.

Three goalkeepers contributed to the shutout effort, beginning with senior Jan Roessler for the entire first half. Freshman Szymon Mocarski and sophomore Giuseppe Scalera split the second half with Scalera making the team's only save.

It was the Foresters' 10th consecutive victory over Ripon, who was also playing for the first time in 2021.

Lake Forest will host Concordia University Chicago Monday at 4:00 p.m.
