Gaston Aubert Named Second Team Academic All-Region

The United Soccer Coaches announced its 2019 Academic All-Region selections on Monday and Lake Forest College's Gaston Aubert was a Second Team selection in the North/Central Region.

To be eligible for Academic All-Region accolades, a player must meet the following criteria:

  • 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career
  • Started more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contribute to their team
  • Nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution
  • Junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer student, in second year at school

The award is added to a long list of accomplishments this season for Aubert, who scored 11 goals and tied for fifth in the nation with 15 assists and 31st with 37 points. The senior forward and team captain finished his career with 84 points on 30 goals and 24 assists, ranking among the top 10 in team history in all three categories.

Aubert was a First Team All-Midwest Conference selection and the United Soccer Coaches named him Second Team All-North Region. The finance major and four-time Academic All-MWC honoree also earned Third Team Academic All-America® honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The 2019 Foresters finished 10-8-1 overall and tied for first place in the MWC with an 8-1-0 record in league play.
