Gaston Aubert Earns Academic All-America® Honors

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2019 Academic All-America® Teams for men's soccer on Tuesday and Lake Forest College's Gaston Aubert was a Third Team selection.

The award is one of many this season for Aubert, who was named Second Team All-North Region on Monday, First Team All-Midwest Conference on November 14, and First Team Academic All-District® by CoSIDA on November 8. The senior forward was also the MWC Offensive Player of the Week and Forester Athlete of the Week twice each during the season.

After missing nearly all of the 2018 season due to injury, Aubert finished 2019 with a conference-best 37 points and 15 assists while his 11 goals were just one off the league lead. He had at least one point in 15 of 19 games and either scored or assisted on 26 of the Foresters' 38 goals on the year. He completed his career ranked among the top 10 in team history with 30 goals, 24 assists, and 84 points.

Successful in the classroom as well, Aubert was a four-time Academic All-MWC honoree and completed his four years at the College with a cumulative grade point average of 3.81. He graduated last spring with a degree in finance and took graduate courses at Lake Forest this fall.

Aubert is the Forester men's soccer program's first Academic All-America® selection since Mahir Mameledzija earned Academic All-America of the Year® honors in 2013.
