Senior Lucas Geib took over sole possession of fourth place in program history with his 37th career goal but Lake Forest was unable to hold the lead and dropped a 2-1 decision to St. Norbert College on Friday in the semifinals of the 2019 Midwest Conference Tournament.

Geib was making a run up the center of the field and was led perfectly by a long pass from fellow senior Gaston Aubert. His shot slipped past the charging goalkeeper and into the left side of the net at the 18:50 mark. It was Geib's team-high 12th goal of the year and the 15th assist of 2019 for Aubert, who finished just one helper shy of the single-season program record.

The score remained 1-0 until the Green Knights tied it in the 72nd minute. They grabbed the lead less than nine minutes later and held on for the victory.

Lake Forest had an 11-9 advantage in shot attempts in the contest, although St. Norbert put six of their shots on goal to the Foresters' four. The teams also combined for 48 fouls with the Knights accounting for 28 of them.

The Foresters finished the season with an overall record of 10-8-1 while St. Norbert will advance to Saturday's tournament final at 15-4-2.

Geib completed his career ranked tied-for-seventh in program history with 87 points while Aubert ranks ninth with 84. Aubert joins Geib on the Foresters' career goals list in seventh with 30 and finished tied-for-sixth in assists with 24. The team will also lose fellow seniors Marcos Hernandez, Alex Armas, Ryo Kanesaka, and Jack Carlson to graduation in May.
