Senior Lucas Geib's second career hat trick led Lake Forest to a 6-1 victory at Lawrence University on Saturday.

Lake Forest took the early lead at the 16:26 mark on junior Alen Hataric's third score of the season. He was assisted by senior Gaston Aubert, who also set up two of Geib's goals later in the contest.

The Foresters out-shot the home team 11-2 in the first half but were unable to add to their lead in the period.

Junior Joao Godoy netted the official game-winning goal less than six minutes into the second half. Sophomore Erik Truitt assisted on Godoy's third goal of the year.

Geib struck for the first time in the game at the 60:39 mark and it became a multi-goal performance seven minutes later. Aubert scored his 11th of the year at 69:19 and Geib matched him at 76:53. Freshman Patrick Limanowka earned his first career assist on the Foresters' sixth goal of the day.

Lawrence avoided the shutout with a score in the 88th minute.

Lake Forest out-shot the Vikings 26-7 and Forester junior Jan Roessler made four saves in the victory.

The win improved Lake Forest's overall record on the season to 10-7-1 and the Foresters finished the Midwest Conference portion of their schedule with eight triumphs in nine league games. Lawrence fell to 8-8-1 overall and 4-5-0 in the conference.

The Foresters will await the outcome of Sunday's game between Knox College and host Cornell College. Knox can clinch the league title with a victory while Lake Forest would take the crown in the case of a tie or Cornell win.
