Senior Gaston Aubert gave the home team the lead just eight minutes into the contest and junior Jan Roessler made five saves in a shutout effort as Lake Forest defeated visiting St. Norbert College 2-0 on Saturday.

Aubert moved past a pair of Green Knight defenders from the left side of the box toward the middle of the field to get a clean look at the goal. He then drilled a shot from 20 yards out into the top-right corner of the net at the game's 8:07 mark. It was his team-high 10th goal of the season.

The score remained 1-0 until, with less than nine minutes to play, Lake Forest senior Lucas Geib was there to take advantage of a dangerous pass back to the St. Norbert goalie that caromed away a little too far. Geib hit the wide open net for his fourth score of the season and gave the home team a little breathing room for the final minutes of the contest.

The Foresters were slightly out-shot 7-6 in the first half and 6-5 in the second but Roessler kept the visitors off the scoreboard for his fourth shutout of the season.

The victory evened Lake Forest's overall record on the season at 6-6-1 and the team remained undefeated in Midwest Conference play after four league contests. St. Norbert fell to 9-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the league.

The Foresters will play a pair of conference games on the road next weekend, taking on Monmouth College on Saturday and Knox College on Sunday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
