Foresters' Season Ends at MWC Tournament

The Lake Forest College men's soccer team's bid for a third Midwest Conference Tournament title in four years came to an end in the semifinals on Friday as the Foresters fell 2-0 to host St. Norbert College.

The Green Knights started the scoring at the 12-minute mark and added an insurance goal at 52:21. The home team had an 8-2 advantage in shot in the opening half and a 7-1 edge in the final 45 minutes.

Forester goalkeeper Tero Elias made six saves on the day and finished his senior season tied-for-fourth in program history with 148 in his career. Lake Forest's all-time leader in victories with 28 will also graduate tied-for-fourth in team history with nine shutouts.

The Foresters and Green Knights combined for 37 fouls and each team earned a pair of yellow cards in the contest.

Lake Forest was the fourth-seeded team at the tournament and finished the year with an overall record of 10-7-1. St. Norbert, the league's regular season champion and the 10th-ranked team in the country, improves to 17-0-1 and advances to Saturday's tournament final against Knox College.
