Senior Jakub Opiola's first goal of the season was not enough as the Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 2-1 at Cornell College on Sunday.

Opiola converted a penalty kick opportunity with 2:13 remaining in the contest to pull the visitors to within one score of the Rams.

Cornell scored the game's first goal just 68 seconds into the contest and doubled its lead at the 55:54 mark.

Both teams attempted three shots in the first half and the Foresters doubled up the Rams in that category 8-4 during the final 45 minutes. Both teams finished with five corner kicks, with Cornell scoring on two of them.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 6-4-1 and their Midwest Conference mark to 2-1-0. Cornell improved to 9-0-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the league.

Lake Forest will travel to St. Norbert College on Saturday for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
