Junior Lucas Geib scored twice in his return to the lineup and the Lake Forest College men's soccer team posted a 3-1 victory at Grinnell College on Saturday.

Both of Geib's goals came from outside the box and were assisted by junior Jakub Opiola. The first broke a 1-1 tie at the 28:17 mark and was his first game-winning score of the season. The second all but clinched the victory with six minutes to play in the contest and was his team-high eighth goal overall in 2018.

Grinnell had taken the early lead less than 10 minutes into the game. The Foresters responded five minutes later with the second score of the year by senior Sal Gloria.

Lake Forest was doubled up by the home team 10-5 in shot attempts in the first half and was outshot 5-3 in the final 45 minutes.

Forester senior goalkeeper Tero Elias made seven saves in the opening period and two more in the second to earn the victory, his fifth against just one loss this season. Elias moved into seventh place in team history with 125 career saves.

Lake Forest is now 6-3-1 overall and 2-0-0 in Midwest Conference play this season. The Pioneers fell to 4-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the league.

The Foresters will continue their road trip to the two MWC schools in the state of Iowa on Sunday taking on Cornell College at 11:00 a.m.
