Senior goalkeeper Tero Elias recorded his second shutout in as many appearances this season and the Forester men's soccer team posted a 2-0 victory Wednesday night at Carroll University.

Elias made a pair of saves, both in the first half, and faced just eight total shot attempts in the game. He is now tied-for-third in program history with 21 career victories and tied-for-fifth with seven shutouts.

The Foresters finally broke the scoreless tie at the 42:10 mark when freshman forward/midfielder Erik Truitt netted his second goal of the year. Freshman defender Connor Keast assisted on the score for his first career point.

Lake Forest junior forward Lucas Geib, who was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week and United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Player of the Week on Tuesday, added to his hot start to 2018 with his fifth goal of the year at 69:45. Geib was assisted by senior midfielder Sal Gloria.

Both teams attempted five shots after halftime, giving the Foresters a 10-8 advantage in that category for the game.

Lake Forest is now 3-0-0 and has outscored opponents 10-1 so far this season. The Pioneers fell to 0-3-0.

The Foresters will host the University of St. Thomas, the sixth-ranked team in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, Saturday morning at 9:00.
