Senior Elyas Ingram scored his third game-winning goal of the season as the Forester men's soccer team prevailed 2-1 at Ripon College on Saturday.

Ingram was there to kick in a deflection from a Ripon defender on a shot by sophomore Jack Carlson with 26:16 to play in the contest. It was the sixth score of the season for Ingram, who leads the Foresters with 18 points on the year.

The Red Hawks had taken the early lead in the contest with a goal on their only shot of the first half at 31:42.

The visitors attempted 13 shots in the game's first 45 minutes and eventually tied the score with 64 seconds remaining in the period. Junior Gaston Aubert played the ball out of the box to senior Seton Trostle, who blasted a shot that caromed off the goalkeeper and the left post before crossing in front of the goal to senior Leo Lehto. Lehto tapped it in for his first goal since transferring to the College last season.

Lake Forest out-shot Ripon 7-2 in the second half and 20-3 on the day.

Forester freshman goalkeeper Jan Roessler entered the game at the beginning of the second half and made a pair of saves to earn the victory.

It was the final game of the regular season for both teams. Lake Forest is now 10-6-1 overall and 7-2-0 in Midwest Conference play. Ripon finished the year 2-14-1 overall and 0-8-1 in the league.

Lake Forest will be the #3 seed in next weekend's four-team MWC Tournament and will take on St. Norbert College in the semifinals on Friday. The winner will advance to play either Grinnell College or tournament host Knox College in Saturday's final.
