Senior Elyas Ingram scored twice to help lead the Lake Forest College men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory at Illinois College on Saturday.

Ingram's first score came off a pass from freshman Jakub Opiola, whose free kick from 40 yards out cleared the defense and found Ingram in front of the goal. Ingram kicked it in from close range to give the Foresters the lead at the 21:04 mark.

Opiola then scored his third goal of the season just five-and-a-half minutes later. A corner kick from senior Seton Trostle bounced around in front of the Blueboy goal and Opiola was able to send it in.

The Foresters out-shot the home team 8-3 in the first half an led 2-0 after 45 minutes of play.

Lake Forest sophomore Lucas Geib drew a foul in the box just 91 seconds into the second half and Ingram went lower-left to convert the penalty kick opportunity. It was his fifth goal of the season and he took over the team lead in points with 16.

Geib accounted for the final goal of the contest at the 64:39 mark when he dribbled up the left side of the field, crossed the defender, and blasted a kick past the goalie, off the left post, and into the goal. It was the sixth score of the season for Geib.

Illinois College had an 8-5 advantage in shots in the second half but was unable to get on the scoreboard against Foresters freshman goalkeeper Jan Roessler, who made four saves in the period after replacing junior Tero Elias late in the first half. Elias was credited with the victory and improved to 7-2-1 on the season.

Lake Forest is now 9-5-1 overall and 6-1-0 in Midwest Conference play in 2017. Illinois College fell to 8-8-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the league.

The Foresters will host Knox College, who has yet to lose a conference game, Monday afternoon at 3:00.
