Foresters Rout Lawrence, Remain Pefect in MWC Play

Senior Osvaldo Lara Soria scored twice as the Lake Forest College men's soccer team hosted and defeated Lawrence University 5-0 on Sunday.

Fellow senior Elyas Ingram assisted on both of Lara Soria's goals, one in the 61st minute and the other in the 73rd. Lara Soria now has three scores on the season and five in his career. It was his second two-goal game, having also netted a pair of scores at Lawrence a year ago.

The back-to-back second half tallies by Lara Soria made the score 4-0 with 18 minutes to play in the contest. Junior Gaston Aubert had give the home team the lead just three minutes into the game. Sophomore Lucas Geib assisted on Aubert's fourth score of 2017. Senior Seton Trostle then converted a penalty kick opportunity at 19:13 to extend his goal streak to five games and double the Lake Forest lead.

The Foresters attempted 14 shots to Lawrence's one in the first half and led 2-0 after 45 minutes of play.

After Lara Soria's goals made the score 4-0, the Foresters tacked on one more in the 84th minute on freshman Joao Godoy's first career goal. He was assisted by Aubert, who has at least one point in six of the last eight games.

Lake Forest out-shot the Vikings 18-1 in the second half.

Junior goalkeeper Tero Elias did not need to make a save in his second shutout of the season and the third of his career. He improved to 4-1-1 on the year.

The Foresters are now 6-4-1 overall and 3-0-0 in Midwest Conference play. Lawrence fell to 1-8-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the league.

Lake Forest will continue conference play against visiting Beloit College Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
