Senior Seton Trostle blasted a free kick into the goal for his sixth score of the season but the Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 4-1 by visiting Wheaton College on Wednesday.

The Foresters trailed 3-0 when Trostle's free kick caromed off the crossbar and down into the goal with 10:58 remaining in the contest. It was his fourth consecutive game with a goal and he has scored five times during that span. His six tallies on the year match the career-high he set in 2016 and he now has 17 in his three-and-a-half seasons.

The teams combined for just two shots in the first half before scoring four times in the second. Wheaton converted one of those shots into a goal late in the opening period and added two more scores in the first seven minutes after halftime. After Trostle's goal, the visitors netted the game's final score with 55.3 seconds on the clock.

Lake Forest out-shot Wheaton 8-7 and had five corner kick opportunities in the second half but were unable to come back.

The loss snapped the Foresters' three-game winning streak and ended a run of seven games decided by one goal or less. The team is now 5-4-1 on the season while Wheaton improved to 4-5-0.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play on Sunday against visiting Lawrence University. The team's Parents Day game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
