A pair of scores by senior midfielder Seton Trostle helped the Forester men's soccer team record a 3-2 come-from-behind victory at Cornell College in the Midwest Conference opener for both teams.
The home team scored the first two goals of the contest, the first at 21:00 and the second at 31:32.
Trostle struck for the first time less than three-and-a-half minutes later with junior forward Gaston Aubert assisting.
Despite out-shooting the Rams 9-5 in the game's first 45 minutes, the Foresters trailed 2-1 at halftime.
A foul in the box by the Cornell gave Lake Forest a penalty kick at the 51:39 mark and Trostle converted for the his goal of the game and team-high fourth this season.
Lake Forest secured the victory thanks to a score by sophomore forward Lucas Geib at 67:21. Geib's second score this season and second career game-winner was set up by sophomore defender Jack Carlson, who recorded his first career point on the play.
The Foresters doubled up the Rams' six shots in the second half and had a 21-11 advantage in that category in the contest.
Freshman goalkeeper Jan Roessler made a save in each half and evened his record on the season at 2-2-0.
Lake Forest is now 4-3-1 overall this year while Cornell fell to 2-5-0.
The Foresters will remain in Iowa overnight before playing at Grinnell College Sunday afternoon at 1:30.
