Lake Forest College men's soccer player John Cappuccitti was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday after scoring one goal and assisting on three others last week.

Cappuccitti, a senior forward and the team's captain, gained control of a loos ball and blasted it into the right side of the goal with just 15 seconds on the second-half clock in a 1-1 tie with visiting Carthage College, the 18th-ranked team in the nation, on Wednesday. It was his second score of the season and the 22nd of his career.

Lake Forest dropped a 4-3 decision at Benedictine University on Saturday before defeating Carroll University 3-2 at home on Sunday. Cappuccitti assisted on the first goal in both contests and added another helper against Carroll.

Cappuccitti leads the team with seven points on the year.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information. Cappuccitti also earned the award twice last season.
