Freshman Lucas Geib scored his first career goal but the Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 2-1 at Knox College on Saturday.
Geib's goal came with the Foresters down a man and with just 2:40 to play in the contest.
Knox had scored the only goal of the first half at 21:02 and added what turned out to be an important insurance goal at 62:55.
Lake Forest played the game's final 24:43 with just 10 players on the field.
The Prairie Fire had an 8-5 edge in shots in the first half and a 6-5 edge during the final 45 minutes.
The Foresters are now 7-6-0 overall this season and 5-1-0 in Midwest Conference play. Knox improved to 11-3-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the league.
Lake Forest will continue conference play at Monmouth College Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
