The Forester men's soccer team out-shot host Augustana College 27-3 but fell 1-0 on Wednesday.
The Vikings scored the only goal of the contest on a penalty kick at the 26:10 mark. It was their only shot of the first half.
The Foresters attempted 16 shots in the opening period and 11 in the final 45 minutes. Lake Forest put 10 shots on goal in the game, including one on a penalty kick that was saved, but were unable to score.
Augustana committed 24 fouls to the Foresters eight. Six yellow cards were issued in the contest.
Lake Forest fell to 2-4-0 on the season while Augustana improved to 2-3-0.
The Foresters will begin Midwest Conference play at Beloit College on Sunday. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
