The Lake Forest College men's soccer team came out on top of a 2-1 decision against visiting Illinois College on Sunday. Senior forward Dylan Hartman started the scoring with his fifth goal in the last five games.

Hartman received a pass up the middle of the field from senior midfielder Cesar Sandoval, sidestepped a Blueboy defender, and hit the net just inside the right post from 15 yards out. The score gave the home team the lead just two-and-a-half minutes into the game. Hartman now leads the 2015 Foresters with eight goals, eight assists, and 24 points.

Lake Forest attempted nine shots and Illinois College seven in the opening period but the score was still 1-0 at halftime.

After the Blueboys tied the game at the 71:01 mark, the Foresters regained the advantage just two minutes later. Sophomore midfielder helped set up the score by splitting a pair of defenders with his cross along the end line from the right side. Freshman midfielder Sal Gloria got a piece of the ball at the near post, skipping it past the Illinois College goalie. Freshman forward Gaston Aubert was there in front of the goal to kick in what turned out to be the game-winner. It was Aubert's third score of the season.

The Foresters outshot their guests 9-6 in the second half and 18-13 in the game.

Lake Forest freshman goalkeeper Josh Geiger made seven saves to help secure the victory, his fourth in as many appearances this year.

The teams combined for 38 fouls and nine yellow cards in the contest.

The Forester improved to 10-5-0 overall and 5-2-0 in Midwest Conference play this season while Illinois College fell to 9-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the league.

Lake Forest's next game will be another home contest against Lawrence University next Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
