The Lake Forest College men's soccer team was edged out 2-1 at Carroll University Wednesday night. Sophomore forward John Cappuccitti scored the Foresters' only goal of the contest.

After Carroll scored the game's first goal less than two-and-a-half minutes into the contest, Cappuccitti tied the score at the 13:54 mark. The goal, Cappuccitti's team-high seventh of the season, was assisted by senoir forward Dylan Hartman and freshman forward Nipun Chauhan.

The Pioneers regained the lead with 4:43 to play in the first half.

After being out-shot 7-4 in the game's first 45 minutes, Lake Forest had a 3-2 edge in shot attempts and five corner kick opportunities in the second but were not able to tie the score.

The loss drops the Foresters' overall record on the season to 8-5-0 and their Midwest Conference mark to 3-2-0. Carroll is now 6-5-2 overall and 5-1-1 in the league.

Lake Forest will continue conference play at home this weekend when the team hosts Monmouth College on Saturday and Illinois College on Sunday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
