The Lake Forest College men's soccer team prevailed 1-0 in double-overtime at North Central College Wednesday night. Senior defender John Palutsis scored his first goal as a Forester and freshman goalkeeper Elvin Husetovic matched his season-high with five saves.

Palutsis headed in a corner kick from junior midfielder Ellis Rutili, ending the game at the 103:31 mark. It was the second assist of the year for Rutili, who is now tied for the team lead with a dozen points.

Husetovic notched his second shutout and improved to 4-3-0 on the year. He made a pair of saves in the first half, two in the first 10-minute overtime period, and one more less than a minute before the game's only goal.

Lake Forest was out-shot 16-13 in the contest but put six shots on goal to the Cardinals' five. The goal was scored on the visitors' fifth corner kick opportunity of the night. North Central had seven.

The Foresters are now 6-3-0 on the season while North Central fell to 1-9-0.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play with a pair of games in Iowa the weekend. The Foresters will play at Grinnell College on Saturday and Cornell College on Sunday. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
