Lake Forest Falls to 5-2 after Loss at Knox

The Forester men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 at Knox College on Saturday. Lake Forest fell behind early and was unable to come back, despite out-shooting the home team 15-11 in the contest.

Knox took the lead just five minutes and eight seconds into the game. The home team added an insurance goal at the 40:02 mark.

Lake Forest attempted eight shots in the opening period, one fewer than Knox. The Foresters then out-shot the Prairie Fire 7-2 in the final 45 minutes but were unable to score. Seven of the visitors' shot on the day were turned away by the Knox goalkeeper while Forester freshman Elvin Husetovic made a pair of saves.

The loss drops the Foresters' overall record to 7-2-0 and their Midwest Conference mark to 1-1-0. Knox is now 7-1-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the league.

Lake Forest's next contest is a non-conference game at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Monday night at 7:30.
