Late Goal Gives Lake Forest Victory at Beloit

Junior Cesar Sandoval scored with 18 seconds remaining in the game, giving the Forester men's soccer team a crucial 1-0 victory at Beloit College on Wednesday.

Sandoval's third goal of the season was assisted by freshman Seton Trostle at the 89:42 mark. It was Sandoval's first official game-winning goal since joining the team this season.

Lake Forest outshot the home team 16-1 in the first half and 14-1 in the second. Forester senior goalkeeper Ian Taylor recorded one save in his fifth career shutout. He improved his goals against average on the season to 1.14.

The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record on the year to 4-6-2 and Midwest Conference mark to 3-0-2. Beloit fell to 2-9-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the league.

The Foresters will continue conference play at St. Norbert College on Saturday. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
