The Forester men's soccer team was defeated 5-2 at home on Sunday by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Sophomore Colin Jackson was one of two Foresters to score his first career goal in the contest.

Jackson scored off passes from freshmen Dayne Johnson and Cesar Sandoval in the game's 31st minute. The goal cut Whitewater's lead to three goals.

After the visitors regained their four-goal advantage early in the second half, Forester freshman Stefan Speno netted his first career goal on a penalty kick at 68:50.

A red card drawn by Lake Forest's goalkeeper in the 22nd minute caused the home team to play a man down and forced junior defender John Palutsis to move to goalie, where he made one save the rest of the way.

Both teams are now 1-1-0 on the young season.

The Foresters will compete in the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) Showcase in Minneapolis next weekend. Lake Forest will play at the University of St. Thomas Friday at 4:00 p.m. and at Macalester College at 2:00 Sunday afternoon.
