The Forester men's soccer team posted a 3-2 victory at Ripon College on Saturday to raise its Midwest Conference record to 4-0-0. Lake Forest senior Dylan Hartman scored to tie the score twice in the first 20 minutes of the game.
Ripon started the scoring on a penalty kick just 41 seconds into the contest.
Hartman 's first goal of the afternoon tied the score at the 2:21 mark and was set up by senior Mahir Mameledzija.
After the Red Hawks regained the lead at 7:06, Hartman tied the score again on his second goal of the game and third this season at 19:06. The score was assisted by junior Maximus Shaw.
The Foresters took the lead on Mameledzija's team-high 12th goal of the year at the 31:51 mark. He was assisted by sophomore Brett Grijalva. The scoring then came to a sudden halt, making Mameledzija's score his fourth game-winning goal of the season and the 24th of his career.
Lake Forest had a 15-3 edge in shots during the first half and a 14-4 advantage in the second.
Forester junior goalkeeper Ian Taylor raised his record on the year to 5-3-0.
Lake Forest is now 6-5-0 overall with four victories in as many MWC games. Ripon fell to 1-9-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the league.
The Foresters will travel to Carroll University Wednesday night for a 7:30 contest.
