Mahir Mameledzija Claims Eighth Career MWC Offensive Performer of the Week Award

Lake Forest College men's soccer player Mahir Mameledzija was named Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after scoring four goals and becoming the program's career leader in goals over the weekend.

Mameledzija, a senior forward, netted the only goal of Saturday's 1-0 victory at Grinnell College. It was his 22nd career game-winning goal and his fourth in a 1-0 game.

Lake Forest prevailed 5-0 at Cornell College on Sunday and Mameledzija posted his fourth career three-goal performance. His final goal of the game was his ninth of the season and 62nd in his career, one more than the previous program record set by Bryan Porto in 1970.

Mameledzija, who set single-season team records with 27 goals and 59 points in 2012, is now just one point shy of Porto's career mark of 142.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Mameledzija also earned the award once each of his first two seasons and five times last year.
