Foresters Fall to Carroll in MWC Tournament Final

The Lake Forest College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Carroll University on Saturday in the final of the Midwest Conference Tournament. The Foresters finish the season with an overall record of 15-4-1.

Both teams attempted six shots in the first half and five in the second. Nine of the Foresters' shots in the game were saved by the Carroll goalkeeper while the Pioneers put just four shots on goal.

The visitors' only shot on goal in the first half found the back of the net at the 29:44 mark. They made the score 2-0 on a penalty kick with 2:17 remaining in the contest.

Carroll's record is now 12-7-1 and the Pioneers receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which will begin next weekend.

Lake Forest, which claimed the 15th conference title in program history with a 9-1-0 record in league play during the regular season, will lose just three players - midfielder Garrett Donnelly and goalkeepers Ethan Guenther and Giancarlo Colasanti, to graduation in May.
