Foresters Win 1-0 at Lawrence, Extend Unbeaten Streak to Seven Games

The Lake Forest College men's soccer team prevailed 1-0 at Lawrence University on Saturday. It was the fourth consecutive shutout for Forester senior goalkeeper Ethan Guenther.

Guenther recorded a pair of saves in the contest and extended his season-opening scoreless streak to more than 412:45.

The only goal of the game was scored in the 43rd minute by Lake Forest junior Mahir Mameledzija off a cross by classmate Steven Johnson. It was Mameledzija's team-high 12th goal of the season and Johnson now leads the squad with three assists.

Mameledzija is now just 10 points shy of becoming the fourth player in program history to reach 100 career points and just the second to accomplish the feat in his third season.

Lake Forest is now 6-1-1 overall and a perfect 3-0-0 in Midwest Conference play. Lawrence fell to 3-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the league.

The Foresters will continue conference play at Beloit College Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
